For those of you in York Region you need to visit Rouge Crest Park in Richmond Hill!! Lots of benches, a massive enclosed play structure structure & toddler play area. The unique patterns in Rouge Crest Park reflect those found in nature; allowing visitors to enjoy recreational activities and socialize in a relaxing environment. Some features of the park include a junior and senior playground, a splash pad, a soccer field, and a multi-sport court for activities such as ping pong, and basketball. The splash pad in particular attracts audiences of all ages who are looking to let loose and have some family fun.
For those of you in York Region you need to visit Copland Park in Aurora!! An absolutely massive play structure. Great for older kids, there is still a smaller play structure for the younger ones but the tall slides are fast and not for small kids. Some very nice walking paths around too. Parking is only on the street. Bring water bottles and some chairs as there isn't a lot of seating or a water fountain. The access from the road is a bit steep. Otherwise the park offers a lot of fun for the kids. A great free activity.
Possibly the largest outdoor playground in Toronto. First, The Jaime Bell Adventure Park is in High Park. A vast, beautiful treasure of greenspace with a bit of everything: baseball diamonds, picnic areas, dense forest, and of course a small zoo.
Second, The Jamie Bell Adventure Playground is something to look at. The visual impression as you approach, (with your kids tugging and pulling at your hand trying to speed up to get there) is quite something; three distinct (yet connected) castle-like structures with numerous slides, bridges and everything in between. Bring some chairs and snacks and enjoy the morning. I recommend going early as it can get very busy by lunch. The nearest bathrooms are up a flight of stairs and a small hill. Cons: No sandbox or water feature right in this park but there is both a pool and splashpad towards the north end of the High Park. There is a train (a tractor in disguise) ride that goes around High Park in about 30 mins (its costs $18 for a family of four). You can hop on and off for that price.
For those in York Region this is another interesting and interactive park with a play structure and a life size game of snakes and ladders. The play area is part of the game and provides a variety of play elements that maximize value in a small park, including swings, a track ride, slides, spiral climber, and seesaw. No washrooms or water fountain so bring water bottles.
For those in York Region here is an exciting and interactive park for you to explore. Relatively new building. Nice facilities - pool, basketball court gym, and even a library. There is as park outside as well as a splash pad - great for family and friends during summer time. Washroom are inside if the center is open, only con is there was not a lot of shade.
